Baby-Boomers and beyond...you're not new to the real estate transaction process. But now you will make different living choices than when you were younger and perhaps raising a family. There are great options and benefits available to seniors.

As a designated Seniors Real Estate Specialist, I'd love the opportunity to share those options with you, whether you're planning to stay in your present home, stay in the area, or relocate to a completely new location!

  • CALIFORNIA SERVICES FOR SENIORS: The California Department of Aging administers a broad range of home- and community-based services throughout California, working primarily with Area Agencies on Aging who serve seniors, adults with disabilities, and caregivers. For more information on specific programs and services call 1 (916) 322-3887 or visit http://www.aging.ca.gov/index.html.

  • A WELCOME BREAK FOR HOMEOWNERS: As early as age 55, you may be eligible for a special deal on your property taxes. most states give residents over a certain age -- sometimes as young as 55 -- a break on their property taxes. In some states, you'll need a relatively low income to qualify, but in others your income doesn't matter. All 50 states offer some type of property tax relief program, such as freezes that will lock in the assessed value of your property once you reach a particular age. In addition, counties and municipalities often have their own property tax relief plans. For details in California, call the Franchise Tax Board at 1 (800) 852-5711, or visit http://www.ftb.ca.gov/individuals/hra
